You need to buy the "WebAssign + Ebook Access F/ Calculus (New Only)" directly from the Kansas Union Bookstore. See also www.cengagebrain.com/micro/kumath121

This will be your only required "textbook." Be sure that you are getting the "life of edition" version. That means it will still work next semester for MATH 122.

We will cover most parts of Chapters 1 through 6.

Exams and Quizzes:

There will be three  common exams: a midterm, a final, and a Gateway.
There will also be two in-class exams, and possibly some quizzes, depending on the instructor.

Gateway Exam:
  • The Gateway exam will consists of 10 randomly selected differentiation problems. The testing room is SNOW 159. The testing center is closed during Spring break and on the some "black-out" dates. You must pass an online exam first in order to take the in-lab test (see the deadlines below). Students are required to have their KUID and know their instructor's name. See more here.

The Gateway exam will consists of 10 randomly selected differentiation problems. The testing room is SNOW 159. You must pass an online exam first in order to take the in-lab test (see the deadlines below). Students are required to have their KUID.

  • In-Lab Gateway deadline: March 14, 2014.
In-Lab Exam Procedures:

  • Log in as "Gateway Exams"

  • Open "Safari" or "Maple T.A. - Login"

  • Log in with your KU Online ID (same as email)

  • Choose your course and In-Lab Exam

  • Lab monitor will check your photo ID

  • Take Exam, click "Grade"

  • Lab monitor will check your ID again

  • Click "Quit & Save"
